Leaving the Avenue of the Giants north entrance, we headed northwest up Highwat 101 to Eureka where our AirBnB for the night was.  It actually was a little beach community on Humboldt Bay south of Eureka called King Salmon.   As you can see, it didn't look like much from the outside.
   
But inside it was ultra-modern and very nice.

We were right across the street from the beach.  This is looking inland.

Looking back at the beach community of King Salmon.  There was only once place to eat here -- Gills By the Bay -- which had a good rating.  Unfortunately, it's closed Tuesday and Wednesdays so we ended up driving into Eureka and had burgers in a bar in a rough-looking part of town.  But the burgers were surprisingly good.
